Most king size velvet beds come in one fabric, one colour, one storage option. The Lidiya doesn’t work that way. Start with the 5ft (150 x 200cm) frame, choose crushed velvet or plush velvet, then pick from more than twenty shades — from Crushed Velvet Red to Plush Steel Grey — so the bed fits your bedroom instead of the other way round. Add gas-lift or ottoman end-lift storage to reclaim the space underneath, upgrade the headboard height, or split it into two pieces for tighter stairs and doorways. A matching king size footstool finishes the look. Prices start from £320 for the frame, with mattresses available from soft memory foam through to a firm 3000-pocket pillow-top.

Crushed velvet has a shimmering, light-catching texture that shifts as you move round the room, ideal for a bolder, statement bedroom. Plush velvet is smoother and more even-toned, suited to a calmer, contemporary finish. Both come in the full Lidiya colour range, so the decision is about mood, not compromise.
A Practical Note on Delivery
Moving into a period property or a flat with a tight staircase? The split headboard option (two pieces instead of one) makes the final carry considerably easier — worth ticking before you order rather than discovering the stairwell won’t cooperate on delivery day.
